Here is where the problem came from, I think.
The mailman email boxes for all of the mailman accounts had been deleted from 
the server and there were forwarders for the accounts that pointed to 
nowhere.   That in itself is a problem because if an email account 
"ares at gaares.org" does not have a mx address where a user can reply to the 
email box address, many servers will block the email before it ever gets into 
the system.

Your messages were being received by the server, but since the server email of 
"ares.gaares.org" did not have a return address, many of the emails sent were 
so called intermittant.

I have resolved the problem by creating new email boxes for all of the Mailman 
email addresses.

This is the exact same problem we had with the Monthly Reports Program not 
sending out emails last year.
Try it now and see if the problem is not resolved.
