Over the past few weeks, there have been some issues with verification of credentials. No changes were made to components that are involved in issues. An assumption that an automatic update might have caused the problems.
After numerous hours of research and review, the issue continued. On Jan 26 GoDaddy (our hosting provider) technical support was contacted. After spending 3 hours on the phone with a tech support representative, the decision was made to restore the site from a backup which was 6 days old. Restoring from the most recent backup resolved the authentication issue.
However, a small amount of data was lost. There was at least one new member signup that was lost. If you created your membership account after January 19, you would have to create your membership profile again. Other members who changed their passwords may have to reset the account again.
